Small Donations

In the current economic climate we have realised that acquiring a large amounts of sponsorship from small companies and individuals is going to be incredibly difficult. Considering this we are taking a different way of thinking about organising our sponsorship needs.

For the next 12 months Excalibur sailing team needs £60,000, firstly to train two days per week at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy, to attend  events in the UK, to upgrade our boat to have the latest equipment and to be able to attend group training session when they arise.

Instead of asking the local small companies and individuals to sponsor us by giving thousands of pounds we are only going to ask them to donate up to £100. By doing this we are hoping to attract many more donations to make our final figure.

Individuals can also donate but we asked them not to donate anything more than £10 so it does not break the bank. Of course if you really feel generous we wouldn't complain.

If we were to get 400 donations of £100 it would make £40,000 likewise if 4000 people donated £10 it would also make our yearly total.

We hope you feel inclined to donate towards our 2012 Paralympic campaign..There are three ways you can make a donation:

  • You can send a cheque payable to Wimbleball Sailability.  Please contact me for the address.
  • You can use PayPal using the link on the left-hand side of the website.
  • You can use Everyclick  either to make a donation or you can use it asYour searching engine both when searching on the Internet or making purchases when shopping and on eBay.  Please see the Support Us page to find out more about Everyclick

Without Support from Local businesses and individuals our Paralympic dream will not be possible.

Ellen MacArthur says:

"Sailing is an incredible sport for any sailor, but for Keith I believe it brings an even greater sense of freedom. But freedom was not enough for Keith - he began racing, and his passion for that has lead him into an extraordinary journey. Keith is aiming for the top, and what I respect about him is that despite his personal challenges, his focus sits entirely on the 'ability' in disability...

Keith, it was fantastic to meet you.

You're an inspiration to us all - sailors and non-sailors alike!"

Geoff  Holt says:

“Despite Keith’s obvious challenges in life, he’s one of the most driven people I know – I like that – it kind of reminds me of myself.  He has an obvious talent for sailing and a particular aptitude for racing.  And with the right boat and the right technology to overcome his physical limitations, he will prove that he has the determination and skill to earn the right to compete with the best”.
