Campaign Goals

Below are my plans for the next six years. Obviously these are ongoing so can change. I will add more costings soon.

2011.

  • Last year we managed to obtain a SKUD 18 earlier than did which has brought our whole timescale forward.
  • We have already competed in two regattas and we are now running third in the UK.
  • We are currently training when the weather allows us to in Weymouth
  • Thanks to Peter we have hopefully found a disabled female crew and we are going to the trying boat soon.
  • As we have a possible crew we are hoping to dobe able to compete in the ISAF Sail for Gold regatta and the IFDS World Championships in Weymouth in June and July.
  • In August we are aiming toguards Rutland water and participate in the multiclass regatta
  • We have just been invited to join the SKUD transitions squad which means we are one step closer to the Paralympics!
  • The ever ongoing challenge to gain sponsorship will continue…

  • to be able to come in the top 5in some ISAF regattas.

Ellen MacArthur says:

"Sailing is an incredible sport for any sailor, but for Keith I believe it brings an even greater sense of freedom. But freedom was not enough for Keith - he began racing, and his passion for that has lead him into an extraordinary journey. Keith is aiming for the top, and what I respect about him is that despite his personal challenges, his focus sits entirely on the 'ability' in disability...

Keith, it was fantastic to meet you.

You're an inspiration to us all - sailors and non-sailors alike!"

Geoff  Holt says:

“Despite Keith’s obvious challenges in life, he’s one of the most driven people I know – I like that – it kind of reminds me of myself.  He has an obvious talent for sailing and a particular aptitude for racing.  And with the right boat and the right technology to overcome his physical limitations, he will prove that he has the determination and skill to earn the right to compete with the best”.
